As MoxiWorks states, “what got you here won’t get you there.” Moxi-Works has outgrown the office and is now in need of an update that can keep up with the fast pace of the growing com- pany. With the company becoming a hybrid workplace, getting employees back into the office is a task on its own, improving the design and comfort of the space is a way of inviting more em- ployees to come back to work in the building. As a hybrid space for those working from home, creating an experience of being part of the company is important; for this reason activities and Moxi-Works packages are some of the solutions added to the space renovations. As part of an improved space, acoustics and lighting are major factors when designing. Acoustical ceilings help resolve the issues that are created with sound, they can either absorb or block sounds. Taking in consideration the light- ing in Seattle and the lighting being projected in the interior, furniture arrangements and color choices are part of the solu- tion. One of the main elements within this design is biophilia. Incorporating biophilia into space soon becomes more inviting and creates an environment that feels closer to nature. Research shows an environment surrounded by plants allows one to boost one’s productivity and performance, even keep their health in check. Thus, working outside on the patio offers to help improve mental, physical health and energy levels. Adding more elements such as an arcade area encourages employees to take breaks and make bonds with co-workers to make the office environment more enjoyable. Creating an environment where employees can be productive but at the same time let go and enjoy themselves is a crucial factor.
